Front cover mock up 2

This is my second mock up for the front cover of my music magazine. It has now got its main image on it and another picture i think that this is a very good image its bold, which attracts the readers attention.

This is my first front cover mock up i am thinking that in the space where the wings are i will be putting photo's. Ihave used the wings to keep the same look throughout the magazine and will be using them on both the contents page and the spread. I like the white text on black background to make it contrasting.

This are the Final few Photo's of this person that i will be considering using in my music magazine at the moment am not sure of where they could be used. If i do decide to use them they will need to be edited, the background removing and so on.

This is the image i was thinking of using on my music magazine as it fits in well with my dark background and the style of the magazine. With this image i changed the brightness and contrast to give it a darker effect such as he's on stage.

Possible Photo's

This is the first photo i have taken for my magazine, it was taken in school so i have edited out the school tie and surrounding background i think that this could be used in my double page spread or possibly the contents page.

This is an example of my first contents mock up i have use contrasting coloured text to the background (white on black). i also need to add some other articles of other bands who will be featured in the magazine. i may choose to change the lay out as this has not got much content be fills a large portion of the page.

Music Magazine Cover

This is a Q magazine front cover, which has its logo placed in the top left hand corner it's been done in a contrasting colour to the back ground so it's easy to see. The main part of this cover is a photo of the Kings of Leon smashing through glass,it is a very powerful image that draws peoples attention towards it. even the sub-headings are made to draw the readers towards the magazine.

Mock up Front covers (School Mag)

This was the first stage of getting my front cover done after i had chosen a colour scheme that i liked i decided to start to play with where i wanted my medium close-up photo to be, once i had decided this i proceeded to use the, blueish green colours in little squares to give it more colour and brighten it up for the reader. I tried the photo layered over the squires but preferred having the reverse of this.

The next step that i did was to add the main story and a little information about it to interest the readers. i surveyed twenty people around the school who would be potential readers of the magazine what colour would look best with what i had done already and most said that they think blue will work best, so i took this advise and used a bright blue that matched some of the coloured squares.

The third step that i took was to add the name of the magazine i had a few idea's but decided to go with this as it sounds quite fun and helps to keep it as an informal magazine. I put the school logo on it so that it can instantly be reconized as this particular magazine.

music mag Contents review

This is a contents page from "Drummer" magazine, which is aimmed at all aged people who are intrested in drumming. There's allot of black and white on this page but there is a use of red in order to break up, and highlight the key points making them easy to see. The main picture on this contents page is vary bold done in grayscale that stands out and attracts the readers eye.

My Front Cover (School Mag).

This is my finished School magazine cover which is done with a medium close-up photo on the front to draw readers attention to the magazine. also there is a big bold title done in a contrasting colour to the background which will also catch the readers eye. i have put the schools logo on to it so that you can see who's school it belongs to. The main story is posted on to the cover with in a sub-heading done in a matching colour to the title and issue.

Contents page

NME uses the same colours for the contents page as on the front cover (black, white and red), and they use text which is really easy to read, which is imporntant so that people can see quickly which bit they want to read, another thing that help's people see what they want to read easier is thier use of sub-headings. Every feature on the contents page would appeal to their target audience because they would be the bands they are familiar with and information they would be interested in. In the middle of the page is a small piece of information about the Kasabian which attracts the readers attention to this, a main article in the magazine.

this is a nice cover as it has bold, bright colours to draw the readers attention and catch there eye. i really like this double page spread as it all fits togeather really well and it catch's the readers attention easly with its bright colours and bold writting. The picture that crosses the page has worked really well. My Final contents page

This is my final contents page i have used the same colour scheme as on the front cover so that they link togeather well. It is quite eye catching, however if i was to do it again i would put more on to it as it looks a little blank in parts.
